Most City parks, all botanical gardens to reopen Monday
O‘AHU — The City and County of Honolulu’s Department of Parks and Recreation is happy to announce the reopening of most City parks and all Honolulu Botanical Gardens, following the temporary closure due to severe weather conditions.
These public facilities, along with permitted activities and park classes scheduled within them, will resume Monday, April 13 under their regular schedules except for the following locations:
- Facilities utilized for emergency shelter purposes at: Kāne‘ohe, Mānoa, Wahiawā, and Wai‘anae district parks
- Kalaeloa Beach Park
- Patsy T. Mink Central O‘ahu Regional Park
- Waipio Soccer Complex
- Hanauma Bay Nature Preserve (normally closed on Mondays and Tuesdays)
Residents are urged to exercise caution around parks, trails, and other outdoor areas during severe weather, as falling branches, slippery conditions, and flooding may pose hazards.
